Pecan Butter

Summary

This variation of the more popular peanut butter is for those of us who love pecans. Since pecans are naturally oily, they only need a little additional salt and some optional cinnamon for extra flavor to be turned into delicious nut butter and spread.


Your grocery list

Pantry Items

  • Pecans (whole, chopped, etc. doesn’t really matter since we’re putting them in the food processor, just make sure there’s no shell involved)
  • Ground cinnamon (optional, for flavor)
  • Sea salt (optional, but recommended, for flavor)

Equipment/Tools You’ll Need

  • Food processor or blender
  • Rubber spatula
  • Mason jar or Tupperware, for storage

Ways to use pecan butter

  • Spread onto toast, bagels, pound cake, or banana bread
  • Stir into your favorite ice cream
  • Make pecan butter cookies and other pecan-flavored desserts
  • Add it to milkshakes and smoothies
  • Make a pecan butter and jelly sandwich
  • Just eat it off of a spoon!
