hi, my name is

Lena.

some folks even call me "the biscuit lady", and I love food. I've been a caterer, food blogger, and/or recipe developer since 2014. Before that, I cooked for fun, for family, and for friends. I've loved both phases of that journey, and now, my mission includes inspiring us to rethink our relationships with food. one of my priorities is to help stretch and shape our future toward viewing access to nutritious and delicious food as a human right. another is to remind people that food is a way to fuel our bodies, of course, but it is so much more.

food is a community-builder. a necessary return to our selves, our bodies and the cultures that birthed us. a common thread that we can use as a way forward.

people power movements. food powers people.

WHAT IS IT [ALL] ABOUT?

cooking. creativity. cultivating change.

there’s no secret sauce, no wizard behind the curtain. working on ourselves then working together is the way upward and onward. I use food to do my portion of the work.

how?

  • by healing myself, physically and spiritually, through returning to and re-imagining the recipes and practices that sustained my ancestors
  • by curating spaces (online and in-person) surrounding food but focused on bringing people together to dream about, discuss, and execute change
